Report examines association political action committees

Survey finds online donations have become big part of PAC solicitation; board members lead charge when raising money. Associations are relying heavily on the Internet when it comes to raising funds for their political action committees, according to a new survey. The Public Affairs Council queried 520 associations about PAC activity during the 2011-2012 election cycle and received responses from 91 groups. Among the findings compiled in the 2013 Association PAC Benchmarking Report: 91 percent of respondents now report accepting online contributions, up 10 percent from four years ago.
